The Grace Memorial Foundation provides financial assistance for pet owners who are otherwise unable to afford major medical emergency treatment or routine care for their dogs. The emotional bond between dogs and humans is undeniable. Our canine companions offer us boundless joy and uninhibited affection and we count them among the closest members of our families. When a beloved pet suffers a serious illness or injury, our hearts break. And when veterinary bills mount to the point where they simply cannot be afforded, many pet owners face nightmarish choices. Fortunately, for those in need, there is a special fund that can help cover these bills—possibly saving a dog's life and a human's peace-of-mind.
The Grace Memorial Foundation supports the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Teaching Hospital in providing assistance to clients who have demonstrated financial need. Funds are available to assist with medical procedures for dogs suffering from illness or injury, or who are in need of routine care, as well as providing additional grants for local animal shelters and rescue agencies. In addition, the Athens Council on Aging Meals Program is a recipient of funding. In the past nine years, the foundation has raised more than $160,000 for these programs. |
